ABOUT
A Brief History on our team
We are the Hermit Social Club team 12675, a FIRST FTC team located in Southern California.
We were first founded in 2014 as a FIRST FLL team known as the Brick Wizards. We had won lots of awards and ranked third place overall in our championship tournament, getting us invites to several invitationals such as the one in Virginia during our three years in FLL.
After those three years, we decided that it was time to move up to FTC. We changed our team name to Hermit Social Club and started to compete. In our first year, we won first place Think award and went to championships. On our second year, we won first place Think, third place Inspire, third place Connect, third place Promote, and third place Control. We were also the third alliance captain and went to championships. In our third year in FTC, we won first place Control, we were the finalist alliance captain, won third place Compass award for our mentor, and advanced to championships. In our fourth year of FTC, we did our best despite restrictions from the pandemic and we won second place Connect, third place PTC Design award, fourth place robot game, and third place Promote video at ILT and first place Control in our Championship tournament. We also got second place in the world for our Promote video that year. For our fifth year as a team, we got first place Connect and first place Compass for our mentor at our qualifying tournament. In our sixth year, we won 2nd place inspire, 1st place design, 2nd place connect, 3rd place think, and we were the third alliance captain at ILT, qualifying for championships. At championships that year, we also won third place Think award.
This next season will be our seventh year in FTC and our tenth year as a team. Once again, we will put our best effort forward to do even greater things this year.

Meet the team
Aditya (17) My name is Aditya and I am a senior. I've been on the programming team all three years I've been on the team. I do a lot of work on vision for the robot as well as tuning with Road Runner. Outside of robotics, I really love math and physics and help run the Math and Physics Club at my school. I also like listening to music and love Drake. Cole (17) This is my third year on the team as a member of the build department. I love physics and light up when anyone asks someone to do a math problem. I am also an officer on the Math and Physics Club with Aditya. Besides for robotics, I also play the trumpet and like snow boarding. Hallea (17) I've been on the team for almost ten years now from when I started as an honorary member on the FLL team when I was too young to join officially. In my last year, I am the team captain and help with programming as well as notebook/outreach. Outside of robotics, I am involved in ASB, Key Club, and play the ukulele. Nyali (17) My third and final year on the team, I am a member of the building department. I like prototyping things out of cardboard and have a love for ducks and bagels. Outside of robotics, I am involved with Science Olympiad and the Black and Latino Alliance at my school. Purvi (17) Hi, my name is Purvi, and this is my first year on the team. I will be joining the programming department and learning the ropes this season. I want to go into computer science as a career in the future and hope to learn valuable skills on the team this year. I also enjoy taekwondo and oil painting. I can't wait to learn more on the team this year! Sachiv (17) My seventh year on this team, I've been on both the FLL team and this team. I am now the build captain and want to be an engineer in the future. Besides for cracking jokes and building the robot, I love playing tennis and debating. Sidharth (17) This is my second year on the team as CAD captain. When I'm not CAD-ing the robot or new design ideas, I love jamming out on my bass or drums. I teach taekwondo to kids with Sachiv and am also involved in my school's ASB. Varun (16) I've been on the team for six years now, moving up from FLL with Sachiv. On the team, I am the video department head and work to create videos for outreach. You may have heard my songs like Driver's Practice or Story of My Bot on YouTube. I have a love for all things Marvel, and outside of robotics, I am involved in ASB as well as my school's Medical Literacy Club. |
